Call for Participation
In this two-day workshop that will be conducted at Aalborg University Copenhagen, interaction design, media technology, and game design practitioners are invited to be immersed in somaesthetic reflection and the design process for two days, on June 6 and 7. The workshop will be led by Richard Shusterman, and is devoted to the themes of body consciousness and rhythmic interaction. It is composed of three steps, namely training, sharing, and creatively enacting.
We offer a practical somaesthetics workshop aiming at building up body awareness and somaesthetic reflection, and using this awareness in the design of methods and the creative generation of ideas and devices for rhythmic interaction.
Practically, the two days follow a similar schedule, starting with movement exercises in body consciousness led by Richard Shusterman. After sharing the experiences of these movements, we break up into smaller groups to generate ideas and enact on the theme rhythmic interaction.
The workshop is primarily arranged for design researchers and practitioners but anyone with an interest in embodied interaction design can apply. Participation is free but we have limited space so we can only accommodate 24 participants.
Please register by sending your name, contact info and a few lines on your background and why you are interested to join to [email protected]
The workshop will take place on June 6-7 2017, Aalborg University Copenhagen, A.C. Meyers Vænge 15, DK-2450 Copenhagen SV, Denmark.
The printable version of the call can be found below.
